SEND & Inclusion

At Sheering School, where Everyone Matters, we work together to be joyful, to flourish and to succeed. We celebrate the uniqueness of every child in our school community because, 'we are God's masterpiece'. Ephesians 2:10.

Our commitment to inclusion

Sheering CE Primary School is proud to be an inclusive school where every child is valued, supported and enabled to reach their full potential. We believe that all children, regardless of their needs or abilities, deserve to thrive in a nurturing environment that celebrates their individual strengths and supports them through their challenges.

Through high-quality teaching, an enriching learning environment, carefully chosen resources and the expert deployment of our staff, we ensure that every child receives the support they need to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

What Ofsted said about our SEND provision

"The school has clear processes in place to identify any pupils who may have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Effective guidance ensures that staff know how to meet pupils' needs. When needed, the school draws on the support and advice from external agencies."
Ofsted, April 2025

Every teacher is a teacher of SEND

At Sheering, we don't see SEND provision as something separate from everyday teaching. Every member of our teaching team is a teacher of children with special educational needs and disabilities. Our staff receive ongoing professional development and work closely with specialist professionals to ensure we're providing the very best support for your child.

Working in partnership with families

We know that you are the expert on your child. That's why partnership with parents and carers is at the heart of everything we do. From the moment your child joins our school, we work together to understand their needs, celebrate their achievements and plan for their future success.

We operate an open-door policy – if you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning or wellbeing, we're here to listen and support you.
