Wrap-Around Care

Breakfast Club

Our Breakfast Club provides a calm, welcoming and nourishing start to the day for all children at Sheering Church of England Primary School. Open to pupils from Reception through to Year 6, it offers families a flexible and reliable option for early morning care.

We understand the importance of a positive start to the school day. Children who attend Breakfast Club benefit from:

A Healthy Start

We provide a simple, healthy breakfast so children begin their day fuelled and ready to learn. Choices typically include cereal, toast, fruit and drinks.

A Warm, Nurturing Environment

Led by our caring and experienced staff, Breakfast Club offers a reassuring space where children can ease into the morning. Our small school setting means every child is known, and younger pupils are well-supported by older role models.

Play, Friendship and Quiet Activities

Children can enjoy a range of age-appropriate activities, including:

  • games and construction play
  • drawing and creative tasks
  • reading time
  • gentle social interaction

This time allows pupils to settle happily before lessons begin and helps develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.

Consistency and Ease for Families

Breakfast Club runs every school day and is designed to support working families or anyone who needs a slightly earlier drop-off. It also helps ensure excellent punctuality and a smooth transition into the school day.

After school club

Wraparound Care (After School Provision)

At Sheering Church of England Primary School, we are pleased to offer wraparound care three afternoons a week, providing a safe, enjoyable and enriching end to the school day. This provision supports families who need childcare beyond 3:15pm and gives children the opportunity to relax, learn and have fun with friends in a familiar environment.

A Nurturing, Small-School Setting

Because we are a small community school, our staff know every child well. This enables us to offer attentive supervision and create a welcoming atmosphere where children of different ages play and learn together with confidence.

Weekly Activities

Our wraparound sessions follow a structured but relaxed programme, giving children opportunities to try new things and build different skills:

Monday – Sports & Mindfulness

Children take part in active sports led by staff, helping them develop teamwork, physical fitness and confidence.

This is followed by calming mindfulness activities, supporting wellbeing, emotional regulation and a positive start to the week.

🎨 Wednesday – Art

A creative session where children explore drawing, painting, craft and design. These activities help build fine motor skills, imagination and artistic expression in a relaxed and friendly environment.

🔢 Friday – Maths Games

Children enjoy practical, hands-on maths games that develop problem-solving, reasoning and number fluency — all through fun, laughter and teamwork.

Food and Snacks

A light snack/tea is provided to keep children fuelled and comfortable until home time. Dietary needs are always taken into consideration.
