Welcome to Sheering School

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Sheering Church of England Primary School and thank you for your interest in sending your child to our school.

We are a small, family school at the heart of village life in Sheering.  ‘Everyone Matters’ in our school; we value every member of our School community and we strive to ensure that everyone is given the opportunity to be the best they can be.

As a Church School we are very proud of our Christian ‘TERRIFIC’ values which underpin the whole curriculum in developing compassionate, courageous, independent and enthusiastic children within the context of a caring Christian community. An engaging curriculum and a wide variety of musical, sporting and creative opportunities enable our children to develop into happy and confident young people, equipped to face the challenges of life in the twenty first century.

We believe that your involvement in this process is crucial and we will provide frequent opportunities to keep you informed about the progress of your child. We are keen to have parental involvement at all levels, and if you have any time to come into school and work with us, you will be made very welcome.

Yours sincerely,

Lorna Brittaine
Headteacher

At Sheering School our Christian ethos lies at the heart of the school and the school lies at the heart of the community. In an exciting and stimulating learning environment we will acquire the values, knowledge and skills to enable us to achieve our full potential in all that we do. We have high expectations at our School and we give everyone the opportunity to be the best they can be because Everyone Matters

Our vision underpins everything that we do in Sheering School and the whole school community embraces and demonstrates this vision.

Sheering Church of England Primary School is a village school with a family feel where responsibility, reliability and courtesy are fostered in a context of academic success, a lively curriculum, visits and a range of clubs & activities.

Hidden behind our Victorian frontage is a vibrant and exciting learning community. With just over 100 pupils, Sheering School prides itself on its family feel and strong links with the local community. Our school logo ‘Everyone Matters’  recognises that every individual involved with the school is valued.

We aim to make our school a fun and exciting place to be with a lively curriculum, visits and a wide range of lunchtime and after-school activities and clubs. We foster the values of responsibility, respect, kindness, perseverance, empathy and independence. Everyone’s opinion is valued in our school.  Together, we are building on the school’s successes and making changes along the way that will enhance what is already good in our school.

Children attend the school from Sheering Village, Lower Sheering, Sawbridgeworth, Harlow and Church Langley. Sheering School is a feeder school for Leventhorpe Academy and Mark Hall Academy  and some of our pupils also go on to attend other Bishop’s Stortford and Harlow schools.

We have strong links with Sheering Village Pre-School and many children join our Reception class here at Sheering School from the pre-school. Click here to be directed to their website Sheering Village Pre-School
